DPR are proud to use ‘The Deposit Protection Service’ (The DPS) in order to safeguard tenants deposits for any tenancy taken through us. The Deposit Protection Scheme’ is part of the Housing Act 2004 and aims to make sure that tenants who pay a deposit of any amount are protected and, if entitled, get back all or part of their deposit at the end of their tenancy, according to the terms of the tenancy agreement.

The DPS was launched in April 2007 by the government of England and Wales and offers a choice of custodial and deposit schemes which ensure deposits are protected within 14 calendar days of receipt by the landlord. The DPS state that in April 2007, nearly 17% of tenants who had some or all of their deposit withheld by the landlord, felt it had been withheld without just cause.
